From NTNU to 12,000 companies

We got to know each other during our studies at NTNU and have a background in computer engineering, marine engineering and entrepreneurship. The common denominator was that we all wanted to start a technology company with a positive impact on the world.

During and after the studies, we received gift cards from companies and noticed that the gift card industry was not keeping up with the technological development. It was simply incredibly difficult to use the gift card we received.

We spoke to many tens of gift card recipients and there was a consensus. Gift cards were not easy to use and they often ended up in oblivion. Corporate gift card issuers had it no better — ordering with an Excel list, sending by post and no insight.

That's why we decided to create a gift card service that puts technology and user experience at the centre. And that contributes to spreading a little more joy in the world.
