Nexans makes employee gifts to Norway and Sweden easy with Glede

The challenge

With over 1,000 employees in Halden and a further 600 in Oslo, Nexans has a strong need to handle employee gifts in an efficient and orderly manner. Previously, the HR department ordered physical gift cards that were sent by post – a time-consuming process that could take days for the gifts to arrive. Clara Arnesen, HR consultant at Nexans Norway, elaborates:

Previously, we had to order physical gift cards through the head office and it took several business days before we received the gift cards in Halden. This required more planning.

The solution

In 2024, Nexans put into service Glede as its digital platform for employee gifts. Clara is responsible for all employee gifts in Haldenfabrikken, while colleagues in Oslo handle employees in Oslo as well as invoices and follow-up.

Nexans also has a large number of employees in Sweden, and has been able to handle gift giving for them in a simple and smooth way. “It’s great to have a service that handles gifts for employees in both Sweden and Norway!” says Clara.

The result

‍

Today, Clara spends a maximum of five minutes sending out a gift card to an employee, and around one hour each quarter planning birthdays and anniversaries. This provides significant time savings compared to the old solution.

The employees appreciate that the gift is digital and available on mobile via SMS or email. The most important thing for me is to be sure that the gifts are delivered at the right time, while at the same time employees get something they like, says Clara.

I have not received any complaints from employees and to me this means that employees who have received gift cards via Glede are satisfied.
